ClassicCars.com COPO Review

The ClassicCars.com's Journal reviewed author Matt Avery's COPO book, giving it a five star review. Reviewer Tom Stahler was particularly impressed Avery's work in combing the historic narrative of Chevrolet's Central Office program with the human interest elements saying, "Matt Avery, a Chevy muscle car expert, combed the archives and found the owners and people involved in the COPO program providing the culture with a compelling story and outright resource for COPO cars. The COPO muscle car and racing programs produced an extraordinary period of automotive history, and Avery captures all these facets in a very entertaining book."

The review delves into the secrecy of the COPO cars including details like how Chevrolet dealer Don Yenko leveraaged the program to build everything from 427ci V8 Camaros to turbocharged Vegas.

In summary, Stahler states: "The COPO muscle car and racing programs produced an extraordinary period of automotive history, and Avery captures all these facets in a very entertaining book."
